Community Development Department Function
The Community Development Department administers plan and programs for the orderly development of Willoughby. The department overseas the development and updating of the City’s master plan, historic design guidelines for the downtown area, and reviews and comments on all development plans before the Planning Commission.
Responsibilities
- Consult with prospective applicants, developers and property owners
- Provide staff support to the Planning Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals, and Design Review Board
- Administers the City’s economic development programs including the Community Reinvestment Areas (CRA), the Enterprise Zone program, and the Willoughby Tax Incentive program
- Maintains list of all businesses in Willoughby
