Updated information from ODOT (April, 2011):Phase II State Route 2 Modernization & Lane Addition, Eastlake, Mentor, WilloughbyOn Wednesday, April 13, crews will close one lane on SR 2 east and westbound between Lost Nation Road and SR 306 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in order to perform survey work. All SR 2 traffic between Vine Street and Lost Nation Road is shifted to the westbound lanes utilizing crossovers. This traffic pattern will remain in effect through mid-July. All ramps throughout the project limits are currently open however multiple ramp closures at Lost Nation Road are expected this construction season. Occasional lane closures may be utilized during nonpeak times. The entire project rehabilitates SR 2 and adds a lane between SR 91 and Newell Creek/SR 306. Tentative completion date: October 2011. Phase III State Route 2 Major Rehabilitation and Lane Addition, Mentor, Painesville and Painesville TownshipLane restrictions are in place on all SR 615 ramps at SR 2 as crews perform pavement operations. Intermittent lane closures along SR 2 east and westbound are expected and will not impact rush hour traffic. SR 2 traffic between SR 306 and SR 44 will be maintained with two lanes in each direction through the duration of the project. Ramp closures will occur, details will be forthcoming. The entire project rehabilitates SR 2, adds a lane between SR 306 and SR 44 and constructs noise barriers. Tentative completion date: October 15, 2012. Phase V State Route 2 Modernization, PainesvilleCrews work to resurface SR 2 between Newell Street and the Grand River in the city of Painesville. The Richmond Street (SR 283) entrance ramp to SR 2 eastbound is closed until approximately October 2011 as crews resurface SR 2 eastbound. Motorists will be detoured via SR 535. SR 2 traffic will be maintained with one lane in each direction through the duration of the project. Night and weekend work is possible. Details will be forthcoming. The entire project rehabilitates SR 2 between Newell Street and the Grand River and work on eight bridges. Tentative completion date: June 30, 2012. |
