British Soccer Camp July 8-12

Willoughby Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce a year of partnership with Challenger Sports, providers of the USA's most popular soccer camp, to host the week long British Soccer camp during the week of July 8th - 12th at Osborne Park.

The camp will run Monday through Friday and each child will be coached by a member of Challenger's British coaching staff flown to the USA exclusively to work on these programs.

Challenger will hold over 3,800 British Soccer Camps this summer and will coach over 130,000 players between the ages of 3 and 18, as well as completing FREE coach education clinics for over 30,000 parents and coaches.

Challenger's British Soccer Camp is more than a week of drills and skills. In addition to taking part in a daily regimen of foot skill development (through the 1,000 touches curriculum), technical and tactical practices and daily "World Cup" tournament style plays, each child will be treated to a rich cultural experience and lessons on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship. Each camp is custom built to meet the needs of your players so Challenger will be directed by the organization on the content of the camp that they too require.

Each camper will receive a FREE camp T-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster, individual skills performance evaluation and free access to an educational soccer website. In addition, any child who signs up online by May 24th will receive a genuine British Soccer replica Jersey valued at $39. The parks and recreation department is the place to mail, fax, drop off or e-mail your Willoughby school, service organization, church group, scouting or other non-profit announcement to have it placed on the community information cable channel.

RENTAL OF FACILITIES

You can rent one of our six park pavilions, the downtown Wes Point Park bandstand, or room at the Willoughby Senior Center.

The Commemorative Tree Program is designed for those persons or organizations, either living within or outside the City of Willoughby, desiring to commemorate a particular person or event by planting a tree. Learn more here.

The department offices are located on the main floor of City Hall. We make every effort to provide our citizens and visitors with the finest recreational and educational opportunities as well as modern facilities and some of the most beautiful parks in Ohio. Please take advantage of our programs and sign up early for your classes & activities.

We are also proud of our beautiful Lost Nation Golf Course which is open year-round, weather permitting. Lessons are also available to beginners and more experienced players along with a driving range.

All of us that work for the Parks, Recreation, Swimming Pools, Senior Center and Golf Course will do everything we can to help you have a great experience. We hope to see you at a park or at a special event soon!
