Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a technique that involves holding a series of stretches for a maximum of two seconds. This is a full-body stretch that will warm up and prepare the body for daily activity as well as assist the body in repairing itself. AIS will improve circulation, and increase the elasticity of the muscles and surrounding connective tissues. You will be working with your body's own physiological processes to gain maximum benefits. AIS can be used by anyone from children to senior citizens as well as recreational and competitive athletes. This class will help you to feel longer and more flexible and give you greater ease of movement. Ages: 13 and over. Tuesdays, January 10 - February 14 and Tuesdays, February 21 - March 27.
