Administration

The Administration office is open Monday through Friday from 9am until 3pm handling all phone calls, membership applications, registration for programs, trips and classes.

Membership

Everyone age 55 and older is welcome to join the Senior Center. Membership for Willoughby residents is $6 per year and non-resident membership is $8 per year.

Red Hat Society

The Willoughby Senior Center has an active chapter of the Red Hat Society. The Red Foxes has a membership of 140 plus members and some activities include pajama parties, tea, and trips all in full red and purple regalia.

Trips

With a 40 passenger bus and a 21 passenger bus, the Senior Center offers a wide variety of local day trips for shopping, theatre, baseball, historical tours, and museums year round.

Overnight trips, multi-day trips, extended day trips and cruises are offered with a Senior Center escort through tour and motorcoach companies that specialize in senior travel.

Programs and Activities

Men’s Work-Out, Lady Fit, Pilates, Spinning, Tai Chi, Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Gym walking, Chair fitness, Lo-Impact Aerobics, Tap Dancing Classes, Line Dancing Classes, Cardio-Tone, and Shuffleboard.

Plus don’t forget the Fit-Well program which for $10 annually you are trained to use the Fit-Well room which has 3 treadmills, an Elliptical trainer, 5-station circuit training, and recumbent bicycle.

You must get your doctor’s approval before beginning a new exercise program, forms are in the Information Center.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Senior Center thrives on the many helping hands of volunteers. Volunteers work in the Info Center doing secretarial work, sit on the Board of Trustees, fund raising, provide meals, help with programs, help with special events, maintain and upkeep the Library, upkeep the Billiards room, and provide assistance as needed.

Volunteers also provide entertainment to the community through the “Browning Singers”, the “One Liners”, the FYT’s (Forever Young Tappers) and the “3-String Dulcies” (dulcimer group).
