Special Refuse Collections

The Lake County Solid Waste District, The Lake County Commissioners, and the Lake County Department of Utilities sponsor special collections. These collections are for Lake County Residents only. Scrap Tire Collection ~ April 12, 2008

• Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Lake County Fairgrounds.
• Up to 6 tires without rims will be accepted at no charge, additional tires without rims will cost $2 each; tires with rims $4 each; oversized tires $10 each

Computer Collection ~ April 26, 2008

• Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Lake County Fairgrounds in the Commercial Building.
  Acceptable items: Home computer equipment including: CPUs and monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, modems. Cell phones are also accepted.
• NO televisions, microwave ovens, typewriters, DVD players, cameras or VCRs please.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection ~ June 7, 2008 and October 4, 2008

• Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Lake County Fairgrounds
  Acceptable items: oil/enamel/etc paints, paint products, aerosols, automotive fuels, motor oil, grease, household batteries, lead acid batteries, propane tanks, drive sealers, tars, adhesives, fire extinguishers, kerosene, gasoline, diesel fuel, fluorescent bulbs, mercury, pesticides (liquid, powder, granular), cleaners (acids/bases/oxidizers), reactives.
• Unacceptable items: water base paints, explosives, ammunition, medical wastes, radioactive wastes.

Phone Book Collection ~ June 20 to July 25, 2007 and Sepember 21 to October 26, 2007

Wickliffe City Hall, Mentor Wal-Mart and Madison Giant Eagle.
